Accordingly to the region, the Soil is composed by pebbles that naturally regulate the temperature. In addition, gravel, sand and clay are the main components of this geological alchemy, the result of the sedimentary deposits that the river deposited in the quaternary.

The vines, deeply rooted to draw the rich intimates of the soil, are divided between 4 grape varieties such as Cabernet sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet franc, in order to create one of the most famous wine blend. Furthermore, the vineyards of the appellation is designed to promote the one of the best natural drainage in French wine regions. As a result, the man and nature wouldn’t have done better.
The meaning “Terroir” is originally associated with climate, topology and geology. Although, some red wine producers, especially the New World (Argentina, Australia, Chile, USA,…) try to minimize notably its influence on wine quality.
Not to mention, the grapes are hand-picked and sorted twice before wine-making, and ends in bottle of wine, within up to 24 months aging in new French oaks.
